 Production area

The area of production of Dogliani includes the communes of Bastia Mondovì, Belvedere Langhe, Briaglia, Castellino Tanaro, Cigliè, Clavesana, Dogliani, Farigliano, Igliano, Marsaglia, Monchiero, Niella Tanaro, Piozzo and Rocca Cigliè, plus parts of Carrù, Mondovì, Murazzano, Roddino, San Michele Mondovì, Somano and Vicoforte.

Dolcetto of Dogliani was the wine former Italian President Einaudi had a particular attachment to. He was a great connoisseur as well as a producer himself, and he was one of the first to lay the foundations for the true development and success of this wine. The variety had been grown in the area since the 1500s, as mentioned in ordinances issued by the local authorities. Dolcetto is undoubtedly achieving perfection in terms of fresh young character and fragrance. A genuine, strightforward wine with moderate alcohol that shows how the Dolcetto grape, with favourable conditions on the higher slopes of the Langa, can be a good choice for your meals.

Awarded with the "Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin" status by Decree on the 4th April2011 and on the 30th November 2011.
