Grape Variety: Favorita 100%

Production Area: Monteu Roero

Winemaking: Destemming of fresh grapes and gentle pressing in a pneumatic press. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for approximately 10 days.

Colour: Pale straw yellow with greenish reflections.

Aroma: Fresh and sapid, with prominent notes of white flowers and citrus fruits.

Taste: Delicate, characterised on the palate by subtle fruity notes that leave a clear citrus finish.

Food Pairings: Excellent with delicately flavoured baked fish such as sea bream and sea bass. Recommended with grilled vegetables, savoury tarts, and pizza with light toppings. Also excellent as an aperitif.

Serving Temperature: 10°C

Ageing Potential: A wine best enjoyed young (up to 2 years) in order to fully appreciate its organoleptic characteristics.

The Story Behind the Wine

Favorita has travelled a long road to reach the gentle sands of the Roero. It is said to have originated in Spain, passing through France before landing in Sardinia, then moving on to Tuscany and Liguria, and finally arriving in Piedmont.

During the era dominated by the great noble houses of Europe, this wine enjoyed remarkable success!

…Only to fade in subsequent years due to its vulnerability to vine diseases and harsh temperatures. Today it risks disappearing entirely because of a serious disease known as Flavescence dorée.

The Bajaj family believes strongly in this wine which, from the very beginning, has been one of the most sought-after in the estate for its rarity and pleasantness.
