ROERO ARNEIS DOCG ENRITARD SANTA MARGHERITA 2020

€ 26,00

CORNAREA

Produced from 100% Arneis grapes grown in the historic vineyards on the Cornarea hill, Roero Arneis Enritard was created to introduce consumers accustomed to drinking young Roero Arneis to the complexity that Roero Arneis Cornarea develops with ageing. Until now, this experience was only possible by tasting the rare bottles preserved in the Cornarea cellar, including the exceptionally long-lived 1983 vintage.

Hence the name Enritard, which refers precisely to a “delayed” bottling: the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for two years before being bottled. Enritard remains on its lees for six months; otherwise, the vineyards of origin and the winemaking method are the same as those used for the “classic” Roero Arneis Cornarea.

Produced only in the finest vintages, with approximately 3,000 bottles per vintage, Roero Arneis Enritard retains pronounced fruit aromas, particularly yellow peach and pear, while already showing a well-defined mineral character on both the nose and palate. This minerality derives from the magnesium-rich terroir and expresses itself more as the aroma of sun-warmed stone than as the hydrocarbon notes typically associated with Riesling.

The 24 months of ageing in stainless steel allow the wine to develop greater complexity while retaining more freshness and drinkability than it would through ageing in barriques.

In addition to naturally pairing well with fish, Enritard can also accompany certain main courses, such as grilled meat, as well as medium-aged cheeses.
